come on, it’s too cold for soccer!

a child’s 8 AM game + temps in the 30’s = one grumpy soccer dad.

can you believe it? it’s already soccer season again. I thought I’d be able to sleep in on saturdays for at least a couple more weeks. come on!

harumph.

middle child misses soccer game

September 13th, 2009 No comments

yeah, I screwed up. with all the kids involved in some sort of sporting activity on saturdays, it’s getting a bit tough keeping their schedules straight. for some reason I thought my middle child had his soccer game at the same time as my youngest. but I was wrong. the middle child totally missed his game b/c of me. sorry son!! but at least I got my other two kids to their respective games on time. as MeatLoaf sang all those years ago – “but don’t be sad because two out of three ain’t bad“. :P

early in the morning…

August 30th, 2009 3 comments

The nice thing about having an 8AM soccer game is that there’s no problem finding a parking spot near the field. Plus after the game, you still have the rest of the morning to do other errands.

Unfortunately, my child ran out of gas pretty early on during the game due to lack of a proper breakfast. Getting the kid to the field by 7:45AM is tough as it is without having to worry about preparing eggs, pancakes and bacon. For the early games, it’s cold cereal, period. no questions asked. sorry kid.

Thankfully, the team still won this one, 3 to 1. I guess some of the other kids have parents that can get up early enough to make a decent meal before the game.

anyway, good job team!
