took the kids to see Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief at the dollar theater (OK, actually $1.50, but you get the idea) yesterday afternoon and was surprised to hear Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” during the Las Vegas scene in the movie. A tad inappropriate for a kid’s movie, don’t you think?

Come on, everyone knows Lady Gaga cleverly hid the F-word during the chorus of the song!

I’m not kidding! listen closely, it’s there. – here’s a youtube link for the version with vocals separated from the track

and even without the F-word, the song’s still inappropriate with lines like…

and

I’m bluffin’ with my muffin

don’t get me wrong, I’m far from a prude. but to feature that particular song in a kid’s movie was clearly a bad idea.

So this is the new year and I don’t feel any different
The clanking of crystal, explosions off in the distance

So this is the new year and I have no resolutions
