Percy Jackson and Lady Gaga
took the kids to see Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief at the dollar theater (OK, actually $1.50, but you get the idea) yesterday afternoon and was surprised to hear Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” during the Las Vegas scene in the movie. A tad inappropriate for a kid’s movie, don’t you think?
Come on, everyone knows Lady Gaga cleverly hid the F-word during the chorus of the song!

don’t get me wrong, I’m far from a prude. but to feature that particular song in a kid’s movie was clearly a bad idea.

Wow! I think I’ve heard this song 100 times and didn’t realize it was dirty. But now that you point it out, I can’t hear it any other way!
I don’t know what makes me sadder–that modern song lyrics are laced with foul language–or that the singers have such poor articulation that no one can understand what they’re saying. I guess we should be grateful for the latter.
