Huzzah! at long last, I finally found a decent chinese take-out joint fairly close to home. Ever since moving into our current house, it has been our family’s mission to find some decent, reasonably priced eateries nearby. Over time, we’ve tried a good number of places that ranged from terrible to just “meh”. The closest chinese take out shop, although convenient, has the worst customer service. The woman that’s usually there has the worst manners and she almost sounds like she’s yelling at you (both on the phone and when you arrive to pick up the order). Yes, I understand that english is NOT her primary language but if I were the restaurant owner, I’d make it a priority to pick someone with better skills at customer relations. On top of that, the food isn’t all the great anyway. For some reason, they smother they food with heavy sauces that simply overpower whatever you’re trying to eat. not good.

anyway, we tried a new place about 10 minutes further down the road. The food is much more to our liking and the person behind the counter is so much more pleasant to deal with compared to the other chinese place.

..and now if I can only find some decent italian…

I had been blogging for years under my real name and came to the realization that maybe having all of these posts about me and my family on the internet isn’t the greatest of ideas. I’ve seen one too many bloggers being burned by having too much info about themselves out there in the blogosphere. I really didn’t want to delete several years worth of posts on my previous blog especially since I had gained good google ranking with all those posts but it was something I felt I had to do. So, I’m starting over, from scratch. Even though I’ve lost a chunk of my blogging history, it sort of feels nice starting with a clean slate. The content here on “This Old Blog” will probably be similar with my previous blog but the big difference is that I won’t have my name posted everywhere or have photos of my kids prominently displayed for all to see. So welcome to my brand new home – ThisOldBlog.net.
